COVID-19 Catch Up Funding

The government have announced £1 billion of funding to support children and young people to catch up lost time after school closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Schools are allocated funding on a per pupil basis. Schools should use this funding for specific activities to support their pupils to catch up for lots teaching over the previous months, in line with the curriculum expectations for the next academic year in actions for schools during the coronavirus outbreak.

At St Chad's, our main aims are:

  • To support our children's mental health and wellbeing.
  • To close gaps in learning so that children are 'back on track' to their prior attainment before lockdown.
  • To reduce the attainment gap between disadvantaged pupils and their peers.
  • To further strengthen home-school partnerships, with a particular focus on home-learning support.
  • To provide additional additional pastoral support to families, e.g. focussing on providing regular and supportive communications with parents, especially to increase attendance and engagement with learning.
  • To invest in technology to support with home learning.
